Synopsis
After 19 years in prison, Frank has finally been released from his life sentence — thanks to his incurable, terminal brain disease. Torn between the need to hunt down those who put him away for a crime he didn’t commit and healing his relationship with his estranged son, what will he decide is more important in his last days — revenge or family?

It is a horrible week on the home market, at least from my perspective. There are no monster hits to talk about, but a flood of middling releases that I can’t really ignore. The biggest first-run release of the week is Yesterday and it is the closest we have to a Pick of the Week contender on this week’s list. That is if you don’t count Crawl and Midsommar, which are hitting VOD this week.

Pokémon: Detective Pikachu is the biggest release of the week and it is also one of the best. Amazing Grace and Penguin Highway and better movies, but Pikachu is the only one of the three Pick of the Week contenders with significant extras on its DVD / Blu-ray release.

It is a slow week for limited releases with only six films on the main list. Fortunately, four of those six films are earning excellent reviews and a couple of them could do well at the box office. This includes both Luce and The Nightingale. Meanwhile, Love, Antosha could do well for a documentary.
