Synopsis

Raj, Yogi and Vikram are best friends, business partners, serial womanizers and happily married! Happy, because their lovely wives have no clue that their husbands cheat on them with every pretty young thing they can lay their eyes on. This picture-perfect world is rocked when Raj’s wife, Sanjana begins to suspect her husband and hires the suave private detective, Kishan, to tail him. Kishan’s built his reputation as a man who saves marriages by getting erring husbands to mend their ways. In this particular case, however, his overwhelming attraction towards Sanjana means he may not be acting in her best interests! What follows is a cat and mouse game, with Kishan trying to catch the husbands with their pants down (literally) and them attempting to just stay outside his grasp.

International Box Office: Blame it on Rio

April 13th, 2011

Did summer start already? I ask because we have a summer-like result at the international box office this weekend. Rio crushed the competition with $54.94 million on 11,714 screens in 45 markets. Opening on more than 10,000 screens is usually a feat reserved for summer blockbusters. The film earned first place in nearly every market, although its individual results did vary considerably. For instance, it was stunning in Russia earning $9.28 million on 1,297 screens over the weekend for a total of $11.31 million. Perhaps more impressively, the film earned $8.77 million on 1,024 screens in Brazil. While Brazil is a very large country, it's still an emerging market and this is a great result there. The film was also strong in Mexico with $4.90 million on 1,521. On the other hand, it was more average in a number of other major markets. For instance, it earned $2.63 million on 724 screens in Germany, which is mediocre for a potential blockbuster. The same was true in the U.K. with $2.48 million on 522, in Australia with $2.42 million on 459, and in Spain with $2.21 million on 390. More...

Red Returns, But Blank also in the Black

April 12th, 2011

Red State continued its special engagement run earning $82,395 in one theater over the weekend. It has already earned $851,832 and will likely hit a major milestone, or two, before it has its official theatrical release. Blank City opened with $13,989 over the weekend and $21,412 since Wednesday, also in one theater. The Four Times was very, very close behind with $13,678 during its second weekend of release. Independent Spirit Award winner, Meek's Cutoff, was just able to grab a spot in the $10,000 club with an average of $10,021 in two theaters. More...

Limited Releases are Going Wild

April 8th, 2011

There are plenty of limited releases opening this weekend, including a few that are opening wider than usual. Unfortunately, most of the limited releases are either earning poor reviews, or are being ignored by critics. Fortunately, one of the widest releases of the weekend, Born to be Wild 3D, is also one of the films that is earning the best reviews of the week. More...
