Synopsis

In a polyandric village in the Himalayas of Nepal, newly married and pregnant Pema tries to make the most of her new life. But soon her first husband Tashi disappears on the trade route to Lhasa. Accompanied by her monk Karma, who is her de facto husband, she sets out to find him and embarks on a journey into the relentless wilderness that becomes a quest for self-discovery and liberation.
