The final installment of our Holiday Gift Guide is here. Part I dealt with first run releases, Part II dealt with box sets and TV on DVD releases, while Part III dealt with limited releases, foreign releases, and classics. This week we look at everything else, including a few that I missed before. This will be far less organized than previous installments, which is saying something. However, at this point, with just a week until Christmas, we are getting close to panic levels when it comes to shopping.

It's a good week in terms of quality as the biggest hit and the best movie of the year hits the home market this week. However, it appears that release might have scared away the competition. Of course, that release is Toy Story 3, and the 4-Disc Blu-ray / DVD Combo Pack, which is not only the Pick of the Week, it might be the Pick of the Year.

Baz Luhrmann started in theater. He wrote many works, including Strictly Ballroom, which he later adapted into a movie. There's a bit of a lull in activity on the home market this week, at least in terms of big sellers. The best selling release is Predators and while I recommend picking up the Blu-ray, the movie barely made $50 million at the box office, so I have realistic expectations regarding its sales potential. Meanwhile, the Pick of the Week is a classic from 1975, The Rocky Horror Picture Show - 35th Anniversary Blu-ray.
