Synopsis
GREED tells the story of self-made British billionaire Sir Richard McCreadie, whose retail empire is in crisis. For 30 years he has ruled the world of retail fashion –bringing the high street to the catwalk and the catwalk to the high street –but after a damaging public inquiry, his image is tarnished. To save his reputation, he decides to bounce back with a highly publicized and extravagant party celebrating his 60th birthday on the Greek island of Mykonos. A satire on the grotesque inequality of wealth in the fashion industry, the film sees McCreadie’s rise and fall through the eyes of his biographer, Nick.

It’s a sad week for DVDs / Blu-rays as there are no top-notch first-run releases. Gretel and Hansel is the biggest and the best first-run release on this week’s list, but its DVD / Blu-ray don’t have enough extras to be a Pick of the Week contender. Likewise, The Lodge is amazing, but its DVD / Blu-ray have no extras… Is Elvira: Mistress of the Dark really the Pick of the Week? It came out last week, but the screener was late, so it is the best release on this week’s list.

My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising is easily the biggest limited release on this week’s chart. Also, its reviews are really good. Hopefully it won’t be the only box office hit on this week’s list, but I fear it could be. There are several films like Blood On Her Name, Saint Frances, and more with impressive Tomatometer Scores, but less impressive average ratings, so maybe they are better fits for the home market.
