Theater Averages: Lion King Can’t Be Dethroned

The Lion King remained in first place on the overall chart and the theater average chart. It managed an average of $16,216 on the latter, putting it ahead of Honeyland, which landed in second place with an average of $15,000 in two theaters. The Farewell remained in the $10,000 club with an average of $11,246 in 135 theaters. Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood was the final film in the $10,000 club with an average of $11,228.
There were not that many other new limited release to talk about, but a couple of them did rather well. The Mountain earned an average of $8,464 in two theaters, while Mike Wallace is Here earned an average of $6,479 in three. On the other hand, For Sama struggled with an average of $3,117 in three theaters. The Fighting Preacher barely avoided the Mendoza Line with an average of $2,151 in 28 theaters. Meanwhile, In Safe Hands wasn’t as lucky with an opening of $1,737 in one theater.
