Theater Averages: Triplets Top Trio of $10,000 Club Members
July 4, 2018
Three Identical Strangers top the theater average chart with an average of $34,301 in five theaters. The only other members of the $10,000 club were wide releases, with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom earning an average of $13,581 and Incredibles 2 being relatively close behind with $10,525.
There were several other new limited releases that had a wide range of results. For example, Love, Cecil only narrowly missed the $10,000 club earning $9,331 in its one theater. Meanwhile, The Cakemaker was relatively close behind with an average of $8,346 in four theaters. Sanju was the widest limited release of the week playing in 356 theaters; it also had one of the best averages at $7,650. Custody had a mixed result with $4,947 in one theater. That’s not bad, but it won’t expand significantly after that. Likewise, This is Congo struggled with $3,690, also in one theater. Woman Walks Ahead was right behind an average of $3,432 in two theaters; however, this film was playing on VOD, so its theatrical numbers are meaningless. Finally there’s Dark River, which only managed an average of $2,123 in two theaters.
This past week also saw milestones reached for a couple of Per Theater Chart alumni:
