Theater Averages: Hell of a Good Time

Hell or High Water led the way on the Theater Average Chart with an average of $19,417 in 32 theaters. The studio was hoping for only half of that, so this is a fantastic start. The biggest new release of the week, Sausage Party, was next with an average of $11,042, while the overall number one film, Suicide Squad, was right behind with $10,232.
The rest of the new limited releases had a wide range of results. The Lost Arcade earned $7,500 in its lone theater. My King was also only playing in one theater earning $6,273. Maryland earned an average of $6,000 in two theaters. There were three limited releases playing in more than 100 theaters and Rustom was the best with an average of $5,986 in 147 theaters. The Black Dove struggled with an average of $3,562 in two theaters, while This Last Lonely Place was right behind with an average of $3,045, also in two theaters. Mohenjo Daro was playing in 246 theaters, but only managed an average or $3,040. Love Me True earned an average of $2,880 in two theaters. Anthropoid was the widest of the limited releases playing in 452, but it only managed an average of $2,729. Ghost Team missed the Mendoza Line with an average of $807 in ten theaters.
