This is a strong week for limited releases. Not only do we have the re-release of a classic, but we have are real serious contended for award season as well.

Criminal - Reviews
A remake of the Argentinean movie, 'Nine Queens.' Not as good as the original, but more accessible. As with practically any film with John C. Reilly, this one should be a player during award season. The film opens in 77 theatres in select cities tonight.

Reconstruction - Reviews
The best reviewed limited release of the week. The film tells the story of a man who has a one night stand that changes his whole life. And I don't mean, 'How am I going to tell my girlfriend I cheated on her?' kind of change, it's a, 'Why doesn’t my girlfriend recognize me anymore?' kind of change. The film not only has the best reviews, but the smallest release opening in just 2 theatres in New York. Hopefully it will have a strong per theatre average and it will expand over the next few weeks.

Testosterone - Reviews
The worst reviewed limited release this week. This is a confusing, dreary tale with only a few, sort performances worth watching.

THX 1138 - Reviews
The first feature length film by George Lucas. When this movie was first released in 1971 it was brutally attacked by critics and all but ignored by moviegoers. However, since then it has become the inspiration for countless movies. The film is a masterpiece and is more relevant today than it was 30 years ago. It opens in 21 theatres tonight, but if you can't see it in the theatres, it is being released on DVD on Tuesday.

When Will I Be Loved - Reviews
The story of a woman who turns the table on the two men who are using her by pitting them against each other. The film has some interesting elements, but overall not enough of them work. It might get a boost from the nude scenes by Neve Campbell.
