Movie Website Updates for October 7 - October 13
October 13, 2005
During the past week promotional websites for several movies were launched and some older ones added additional content. Here the list of this week's releases, a couple of new sites and few updates, including this week's winner, Prime - Official Site.
Chicken Little
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
Clerk 2: The Passion of the Clerks
Curious George
Derailed
Domino
Doom
Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story
Elizabethtown
The Fog
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Innocent Voices
Jesus Is Magic
Just Friends
Loggerheads
Nine Lives
Prime
The Producers
Where the Truth Lies
Another game and trailer were added to the site.
The placeholder site underwent a complete redesign, but I've been having trouble with the QT video clips. The WMV are there, but a vastly prefer QT.
Another week, another couple of video clips were added. (Plus the first every image of the Clerks 2 world! Ohhhhh. Ahhhhh.) The first clip is on the Camera prep, the second is on the person who bid $11,500 on a BBQ with Kevin Smith.
Simple placeholder site with the animated into being the most interesting aspect. It also has the synopsis, image gallery, and trailer.
Just the trailer so far, which didn't sell the film particularly well, at least not to me.
This site certainly is unique in its design with everything is in the form of pop-ups. However, the design more or less interferes with the surfing experience, not enhancing it.
The clips / behind-the-scene section was fixed, but the games and other video clips are still marked coming soon.
The site underwent a complete redesign and there were plenty of new features added. Most of these features are in the form of video clips with interviews, behind-the-scenes, video clips and more. (Although some of these clips appear to be lost behind broken links.) There us also a section for activities and the final verdict on the site will depend heavily on what they are.
The movie opens tomorrow but the interviews are still marked coming soon. I'll check back later to see if it was uploaded late.
The site has been loading for 10 minutes now, so it's safe to say it is unavailable at the moment. Too bad, because it is quite a good site.
New trailer! I can't wait to see this movie. In fact, it is the only film coming out for the rest of the year that I would rate as "Can't miss." Also added to the site this week were some character and cast bios.
It has all the information you'd want, but almost no style.
Just the trailer, which is amazingly funny, but also amazingly offensive. Just like Sarah Silverman.
The site was completely changed this week and has most of the regular features, (synopsis, cast bios, images, trailer) but the focus is on the character bios and clips. It's not a bad start, but I'm still not sure about the film.
The site has all the usual features, but doesn't have a very professional feel.
The highlight of this site is the themes section, which has nine clips, one for each of the lives mentioned in the title. Most of the usual features are also on the site, (synopsis, cast & crew bios, trailer) as well as a Q&A session with the director.
The flash site launched this week and it does an excellent job of selling the film. It has all the usual features, (synopsis, production notes, cast & crew bios, image gallery, and trailers) as well as extras like clips and a personality test. (On a side note, according to the personality test I'm in my 40s, which I am not.) Combined with good background music and enough animated transitions and you get a strong site. Perhaps not strong enough to win the choice Weekly Website Award, but this is a slow week and it benefits from the lack of competition.
This site just has the synopsis and the image gallery while the British site has the trailer. The trailer didn't strike me as particularly funny, but I think that has a lot to do with huge expectations; I'm not writing it off, but I'm on a wait and see approach.
The site has all the usual features, plus enough style to help build intrigue. But there's not enough extra to set it apart.
