Movie Website Updates for October 7, 2007 - October 13, 2007
October 14, 2007
Quite a few full sites launched this week, but as is the case most times, there were pretty Spartan at the moment and it will take a few more updates before we can tell if they are award-worthy or not. That said, it was a site for a movie that opens this week, Lars and the Real Girl - Official Site, that won the top prize as it finished adding all the material marked coming soon this week.
The Air I Breathe - Official Site

Why Did I Get Married? - Official Site
Just the two blogs and none of the usual content so far.
I think there's a new intro, but we are still waiting for more content.
Remix the Trailer was added to the site.
All the usual features are here, as well as two games. On a side note, it's a lot harder to complete a puzzle when you don't have the finished picture to use as a guide.
The site is still gone. Troubling.
Building the Golden Age was finally added to the site this week and it looks that the costumes and the sets in the movie. A good addition to an award winning site.
The batting practice game was added to the site this week. The game is fun, but the overall site is just average.
The flash site launched this week, but it was disappointing. So far it is just the basics, (with the bios marked coming soon). There is a section for games, and the fact that it's plural does give me some hope, however, I was expecting more in terms of animation and sound throughout the site.
The site launched this week, but it's just the basics without even a hint of something special. (The closest there is to an extra are some quotes from some reviews.)
There's a new version of the trailer on the site, but I'm still not sold. I fear the movie will be more style than substance.
Like many site for advocacy documentaries, this one spent equal time discussing the movie and discussing the message. However, it also had a more cohesive sense of style.
The trailer is on the site, but it left me worried. It feels like they are taking a rather interesting book and turning it into a rather generic sci-fi action film. (This is a common problem.) I could be wrong; I hope I'm wrong, but I will need to see more before I'm convinced.
First of all, wow, what a cast. Secondly, I seriously dislike the Fox Searchlight website. However, the trailer alone sold me on the movie.
The locations in town were added this week, and not only are there six main locations to explore, a couple of them have multiple sub-location with a total of 8 video clips. There are also other little things on many of the locations like you can try and play bowling, or check out the Real Doll website, look at the patients' reports at the doctor's office, etc. Little things, but they add to the site. In addition, the site has all of the usual features that were added last week including the synopsis, cast and crew bios, and trailer, but no image gallery. It has the right level of quirkiness to sell the movie without feeling disingenuous. Overall it keeps the surfer's attention while selling the movie very well and is the winner of the artificial Weekly Website Award.
Another site that launched since last time. Here we have just the basics in terms of content, (with a trailer that refused to load), but there are audio clips as intros to each section as well as an interactive section that allows people to type in what they are willing to fight for. Most of them only have a few comments, but mine, "Justice," was popular with 59 so far. I guess great minds do think about.
The site got a new, and more boring, look.
A couple of warnings. Firstly, there is nudity on this site. Secondly, if you plug the name of this site into a search engine, Chris Hansen will show up at your house. Just thought you should now before you proceed. This site as a lot of information, mostly bios on the cast and crew.
Just the teaser trailer, but it's going to take a lot more than that to sell me on the movie.
All the usual features are here, including a game based on Pac-Man. This is the U.K. site, but hopefully the film will make it here and the site will be just as good.
No updates for a while.
New look to the placeholder site and a new fan site. (I'm not sure if this is going to be the full site, but outside of the trailer, there's none of the regular features.)
New look to the placeholder site, nothing new on the full site.
Most of the usual features are here, but there's a lot of interactive features as well. However, it is mostly stuff like the decoder where you can see what a man or a woman really means, which is filled with tired clichés.
