Movie Website Updates for August 26 - September 1, 2007
September 1, 2007
As we enter the slowest month of the year, the number and quality of website updates has slowed to a crawl as well. I suspect that within a few weeks we will start getting website launches for films opening during the holidays, and that will again give us plenty of award-worthy sites.

The flash site finally launched this week after months of looking at the placeholder site week after week. Unfortunately, outside the basics, there's not much to recommend the site. (In fact, they still just have the teaser trailer.
A ton of new clips were added to the site this week lifting to total to two dozen. The site also has all of the usual features as well as a online community / viral marketing section. But there's not a lot of style here, and that affects the overall effectiveness of the site.
Total redesign this week, but outside the red band trailer, there's nothing here that makes it stand out.
Ethan was Right has this weird game associated with it. I'm not sure what it has to do with the movie, if anything.
A lot of information here, mostly in the form of links to other sites. Also, all of the regular features are on the site, but nothing that sets it apart.
Synopsis, photos, trailer. That's it.
All the features you would expect to see are here, as well as a few extra clips. However, there isn't a very polished feel to the site.
All the usual features are here, as well as a behind-the-scenes clip. The iconic music is probably enough to get fans of the franchise to theaters, but I'm not sure how well it will sell the movie to others.
Nothing new this week, but I have to mention that hearing such a famous song sung in a foreign language is rather cool.
The trailer and a blog were added to the site.
I was expecting this site to be in Spanish, since the movie is in Spanish. All the usual features are here, as well as the three infomercials from the movie, which is a fun extra.
The flash site launched this week and it has all of the usual features, (synopsis, extensive production notes, cast & crew bios, image gallery and the trailer). However, the heart of the site is the character section with seven clips for the seven characters. Arguably the best site on this week's like, but I'm still not sure if it is award worthy. Maybe if it adds more to the character section, bios perhaps, it will win later on.
All the regular features are here, synopsis, cast & crew bios, images, and trailer, but there's little in the way of style.
A new look but less content. In fact, there's less content than before.
They changed the site and got rid of the old menu system. Granted, it wasn't the most functional I've seen, but I like it and it fit with the whole modern art style.
This is more of a blog than an official site, and I assume the real official site will have a different URL. But this site should be of interest to fans of the franchise, assuming it is updated regularly.
Feels more like a blog than a movie site. Lots of information, but no pizzazz.
Just the synopsis and teaser trailer so far, but I expect the site to live up to the previous ones.
No changes in a couple weeks.
An animatic / pitch piece was added to the site, as was a remix of the trailer.
The old MySpace site is gone and it just re-directs to the MySpace main page. Hopefully it will either be back, or better yet, replaced by next week.
I was told to enter a password for the site, then I was booted when I didn't have one.
