Movie Website Reviews for the Weekend of July 10th, 2009
July 12, 2009
There is nothing on this week's list of movie sites that stands out as award worthy. There's nothing on this week's list of movie sites that stands out as above average. On the plus side, it's making my decision to end this column much easier.
Blood - The Last Vampire - Official Site
Bruno - Official Site
Humpday - Official Site
I Love You, Beth Cooper - Official Site
Soul Power - Official Site
Weather Girl - Official Site
Just the synopsis, two trailers, and three clips. That's pretty weak, even for a limited release.
What the hell is this site? I have to complete a survey to watch the trailer? There are more ads than content. It actually makes the MySpace page look good by comparison. I feel like it's a joke site and the real site is under a different URL.
A very common looking site for a Magnolia Pictures release. It's not even a site, really, as it's just a page. Then again, the trailer should be enough to sell this movie to most people.
Not a lot here. In fact, there's more user submitted content than not. You can 'tweet' out confessions and submit declarations of love, or read / watch other's submissions. The only movie content on the site is the trailer and an intro by Hayden Panettiere.
All the usual features are here, including a lot of bios on the musicians and others featured in the film. However, while there is not a lot here that makes it stand out in terms of sound or animation. This is especially disappointing given the musical nature of the movie.
All the usual features are here, but not much in terms of extras. There's a blog with recent news items, and a second image gallery with behind-the-scenes photos, but that's it.
