The film's best market was Japan, where it remained in second place with $2.71 million on 642 screens over the weekend for a total of $19.19 million after three.

  • Twilight saw moderate growth climbing to seventh place with $8.84 million on 2354 screens in 36 markets for a total of $105.79 million internationally. The film has no major openings, but was aided by several midlevel debuts including a first place, $949,000 opening in Greece. Its biggest market was the U.K. where it managed just sixth place with $1.96 million on 422 screens. Meanwhile in France, it placed fifth during its opening with $1.31 million on 354 screens.

  • Changeling fell a few places to 22nd with $2.57 million on 805 screens in 12 markets and now has $35.32 million. The film has practically matched its domestic total, while it has yet to open in Russia, Germany, Australia, and a number of other major markets.
  • The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button climbed to 23rd place with $2.28 million on 307 screens in 2 markets for a total of $6.36 million after two weeks of release. The film was down just 9% in Australia to $2.12 million on 251 screens over the weekend for a total of $5.98 million there. Meanwhile it grew by 42% in neighboring New Zealand with $165,000 on 56 screens over the weekend for a total of $389,000, also after two weeks.
  • Inkheart remained in 24th place with $2.24 million on 1090 screens in 6 markets for a total of $15.52 million. This includes Germany, where it added $1.22 million on 500 screens over the weekend for a total of $8.81 million after four.

  • The Italian box office was hit hard by the post-holiday weekend, so it comes as no surprise that the couple local hits there were no exception. For instance, Il Cosmo Sul Como was down 66% to $1.87 million on 459 screens for a total of $16.32 million in that market. Overall it made $2,19 million on 470 screens in 2 markets over the weekend for a total of $18.49 million after three.
  • On the other hand, K-20 - Legend of the Mask saw significant growth in its native Japan adding $2.15 million on 322 screens over the weekend to its total of $12.26 million after three.
  • Burn After Reading earned $2.12 million on 723 screens in 15 markets for a total of $91.41 million. The film is still on pace to reach $100 million; it depends on how well it does in Japan when it opens there at the end of April.
  • Quantum of Solace earned $2.06 million on 1325 screens in 36 markets over the weekend for a total of $382.05 million internationally and $548.87 million worldwide. The film is about $50 million behind Casino Royale with only Japan ahead of it. Considering that film made less than $20 million in that market, it appears Quantum of Solace will have to settle for being the second highest grossing Bond film of all time.
  • Buddenbrooks remained in fifth place in Germany with $1.84 million on just 256 screens over the weekend for a total of $5.63 million after two. Overall it managed 30th place with $2.01 million on 292 screens in 3 markets over the weekend for a total of $6.15 million.
