Top of Per Theater Chart is up for the Taking

August 30, 2010

No film was able to top the $10,000 mark on the per theater chart with Takers coming very close with an average of $9,298.

The best new limited release was Change of Plans with an average of $7,689 in two theaters. Mesrine: Killer Instinct opened with an average of $5,460, which is excellent, considering it was playing in 28 theaters. The Centurion was a little weaker with an average of $3,569 in 12 theaters. Circle just missed the Mendoza Line with an average of $1,963 in two theaters, while Daniel and Ana only managed $1,400 in its lone theater.

This past week also saw milestones reached for a few Per Theater Charts alumni:

  • Mao's Last Dancer reached $1 million, if you include its previous run in Canada.
  • Get Low hit $2 million early in the weekend, $3 million sometime in the middle, and it is already more than halfway to $4 million.
  • Please Give finally made it to $4 million, but that's as far as it will go.
