  • Birdman has led, or been among the leaders in just about every Awards Season nomination list, so it comes as no surprise that it won the top prize here.
  • The LEGO Movie earned the best reviews on the list, so again, there's no surprise that it won.
  • Life Itself not only earned excellent reviews, but it was about a film industry figure, so that likely helped.
