Synopsis
Jane Curtin stars as Lina, a lonely young American woman charmed by the arrogant wit of Johnnie Aygarth, a notorious playboy and seemingly wealthy bachelor. After a whirlwind romance, the couple marries, but unpleasant details begin to emerge soon thereafter. It turns out that Johnnie is actually broke, and a compulsive gambler - a deadly combination. He desperately starts borrowing against Lina's life insurance policy, which arouses her suspicions further when he develops an unusual interest in murder mysteries. Lina begins to fear for her safety, and after Johnnie's friend suffers an unfortunate accident, her suspicion develops in to full-blown hysteria.
